Mr. Van Poppel, a former employee of Alsbach's, and Mr. Broekmans who was prepared to invest in this project, founded Broekmans & Van Poppel in 1914. After a few years the company was continued by Mr. W. van der Meer, a violin- and bowmaker and in addition to this would like to have a sheet-music store. Very soon Mr. P.J.A. Ganzinotti was employed at the age of 13. He was able to expand the shop enormously and also started to publish.
In 1942 his son Giovanni joined the company and in the years after three sons of Giovanni, Piet, Ron and Giovanni Jr., joined also.
Currently Broekmans & Van Poppel occupies two large stores in 2 cities, Amsterdam and Utrecht, has a large catalogue with a number of educational publications and among others a Flute-Series in which a number of important publications are published for several kinds of combinations, and which you will find in our Online Catalogue.
Not yet all the works we are able to deliver, our stock consists of approximately 300.000 different titles. At present you will find in our online catalogue a large selection of both well-known and rare publications of all publishers worldwide. New titles are added on a daily basis, therefore add our Website to your Favourites and visit us on a regular basis.
