Product description

El Día Anunciado (the declared day), composed under the help of tango elements is a modest homage of Astor Piazzolla, the founder of tango nuevo. The title indicates on the oppositions that received the music by Astor Piazzolla in South America some decades ago. Today his music achieved deserved and foreseen recognition. The composition was written for Oribe Dorrego, a well-known guitarist and lecturer from Uruguay.

The second piece is based on the Afrouruguayan Candombe. The virtuoso Estudio Candombeado uses the typical bar repetitions of etudes although the interpreter could decide spontaneous how much repetitions he wants to play. Not all guitars have 20 frets. In such case the bars from 39 until 47 should be played an octave lower.

The last piece Luna de Febrero (February-moon) is based on the music of the Murgas. These groups, singers, dancers and percussionists capture all quarters of Montevideo during carnival. The murga-music brokes away itself from the carnival during the 1970s so that today the music is a part of the musical versatility of the Uruguayan capital.
