Prompt is a composition in three movements which was written in 2006. As the title already points out, the rhythmical values in conjunction with the long/short-articulation should effectively be played on time in relation to the current pulse, not delayed (like sometimes in romantic espressivo playing). The expressive range of the three movements reaches from lyrical to furious. The degree of difficulty is moderate, but it should not be underestimated, especially since everything has to sound quite easily. The part of the fifth violoncello may alternatively be played by a double bass. Beyond octave transposition some other minor adjustments have been made in the double bass part. They are not specified in the full score.
