Louis Drouet - 72 Studies for the Boehm Flute ( 2 Vols).
At a ripe old age Louis Drouet went to America, accompanied by his son, the pianist Louis Drouet junior. It was during that journey that he first encountered the Boehm flute of 1847. Although Drouet had played an old-system flute all his life, he was so enthusiastic about the new invention that he promptly wrote a series of new studies for it. Those studies are published here for the first time in a modern edition. Concisely written, each focuses on a technical aspect such as legato, different articulations, flexibility etc. These studies are among the best ever written for the flute.

Op hoge leeftijd ging de, in heel Europa bekende, Nederlandse fluitist Louis Drouet naar Amerika. Zijn zoon vergezelde hem als pianist. In New York maakte hij kennis met de Boehmfluit van 1847. Hoewel Drouet zijn hele leven op oud-systeem-fluiten had gespeeld raakte hij zo enthousiast over het nieuwe instrument dat hij er direct een serie nieuwe etudes voor schreef. Onze uitgave is de eerste moderne uitgave van deze stukken. Beknopt geschreven, richt iedere etude zich op een specifiek studiedoel zoals legatospel, frasering, articulatie, snelle registerwisseling, vingertechniek, etc. Vaak zijn deze stukken in een bekende vorm gegoten: een Bolero, een Wals of een Thema met variaties.
