Roland Dyens chose the titles of his works when a composition was nearly finished, "the icing on the cake", as he liked to say. Air ascendant Terre gives a nod to the elements of Yannick Le Goff and Roland Dyens's astrological signs: both are Libra, an air sign, with as an ascendant for Roland, the earth sign Virgo.

Air fills the sails of two boats steering in the same direction, hand in hand, like two friends approaching the realm of eternity.
