Hij begon met lesgeven toen hij 19 jaar oud was(!) en startte in 1992 zijn eigen drumschool. Van 1999 tot 2012 doceerde hij aan het Conservatorium van Rotterdam (CODARTS) waar hij met hoog getalenteerde studenten uit heel Europa werkte. This study book for drummers is written by drummer / coach Juan van Emmerloot who has been working professionally on a international level for more than 35 years. He started teaching when he was 19 years old (!) and started his own drum school in 1992. Vrijheid, dynamiek en muzikaliteitEindelijk structuur in mijn reis beter te leren drummen. De oefeningen helpen enorm voor de onafhankelijkheid van alle ledematen. Het mooie is dat ik al na een aantal oefeningen merkte dat ik bepaalde nummers veel makkelijker ging spelen. De vrijheid van spelen met gebruik van het gehele drumstel neemt zienderogen toe. Met alles wat er online te vinden is ontbreekt het mij aan focus en doe je maar wat. Met deze cursus is er een heldere opbouw om je stap voor stap verder te brengen. Je gaat er al heel snel een stuk dynamischer van spelen waardoor het direct muzikaler wordt. Aanrader!!!

SWBen nu een tijdje bezig in deze zeer uitgebreide drummethode. Je wordt als het ware bij de hand genomen bij je ontdekkingstocht op het drumstel. En deze ontdekkingstocht verloopt zeer gestructureerd : essentiele basisbeginselen zoals stick grip, zithouding , drumnotatie worden helder en duidelijk uitgelegd. Vervolgens komen alle drumrudiments ( de noodzakelijke bagage van elke drummer) voorbij. Door de afwisselende en uitgebreide oefenvormen blijft het studeren van saaie oefenstof toch interessant. Iedere drummer die bereid is om tijd en energie in zijn spel te steken is zeer zeker gebaat bij deze drumcursus. In een paar woorden: duidelijke uitleg, zeer gestructureerde opbouw, uitdagend,

Development en progress in my own tempoI've been working with this method for 2 months now... and I quite happy with the results. The combination of the book and video's is really helpful. I study in my own pace with a logical build up to the difficulties levels, ... in the end you have to do it yourself, but this approach really helps me practicing and studying on a daily basis. The skill and experience of Juan is really inspiring. Recommended!

My playing improves dramatically page after pageJuan's enthusiastic and grounded way to show and explain what is really import to grow from basic to advanced is what does the trick for me. Every page I get challenged. I have been playing the drums for over 30 years now as an autodidact. Juan's method helps me to put right what has gone sideways, teaches me new things that I did not know of and challenges me with accessible, easy to grasp exercises to improve step by step.
The more I use the method the more enthusiastic I get!

Great all-round study guide that pushes you to the next level!Juan made a very well rounded drum course that focusses on developing a very decent foundation to build upon. A lot of excersises build on a large amount of patterns that you play in different ways so you develop a very solid feeling for groove and dynamics. And gives you the coördination to apply different feels to any groove. This combined with original approach to fills and a section where independence is trained makes this a very complete method to take you the next level. And on top of this, all excercises are played and recorded by Juan himself and you can check them at the study portal. Here you can check how each exercise should sound and you can compare this to your own playing! Very valuable!

From basic to advancedEen prachtig boek dat doet wat het beloofd. Ik heb een enorme groei gezien in mijn spel en creativiteit sinds ik serieus ben gaan studeren met dit boek. Het mooie is dat er ook videolessen bij zitten (daar kan je toegang tot krijgen via de site, let op: niet ingebrepen) die je helpen en uitleg geven waar nodig. Voelt toch alsof ik echt op les kom! 10/10 aanrader!!
