Anna Magdalena Bach (1701-1760) was the second wife of Johann Sebastian Bach. As personal documents are scarce, the two notebooks for piano are very precious: while the first one has only been preserved as a fragment, the second one charms with its affectionate setting. It opens with two of Bach's great partitas and the remaining pieces were selected by Anna Magdalena herself: among them are small gallantry pieces and compositions of her children. This Urtext edition is intended to be used for teaching purposes.
