Edouard Destenay (1850 - 1924). We know very little about his life, starting from his birth date. Native of Algeria, he moved to Paris, where he studied music with Claudius Blanc.
He was a Knight of the "Légion d' Honneur" and a Committee member of the French musicians. He was a tactful and a full of "verve" composer, deeply concerned about the thought and the methods of the eighteenth century teachers.
He mainly composed music for strings and orchestra and his "Romantic Symphony" for piano and orchestra was many times performed in Paris.
