In your hands is an edition for two flutes or a combination of flute/clarinet. It´s for students who have been playing their chosen instrument for two to three years and who also have some experience reading music and playing in the most important keys. While arranging this version, we were guided by our goal of having the pieces optimally suited to the sound and range of the flute. We have chosen new keys accordingly.
The compositions cover a broad stylistic spectrum, from jazz to calypso, from blues to a French musette waltz. Besides exposing you to different styles of music, the pieces also have a specific goal: they should teach you to enjoy playing music!
The CD contains complete demo versions of the pieces as well as play alongs featuring piano accompaniment. As the flute parts are on separate channels in the demo versions, you can turn one of the flutes all the way down using the balance knob on your stereo and then play this part along to the recording.
I would like to wish all aspiring flutists lots of fun with this book! As one of the compositions' title proclaims: make sure you “Keep On Movin´!"

Hier liegt nun eine Fassung für zwei Flöten bzw. für die Kombination Flöte/Klarinette vor. Sie richtet sich an Schüler, die ihr Instrument seit ungefähr zwei bis drei Jahren spielen und schon etwas Erfahrung mit dem Notenlesen und den wichtigsten Tonarten haben. Bei der Bearbeitung haben wir uns von dem Ziel leiten lassen, dass die Stücke dem Klang und dem Tonumfang der Flöte möglichst gut angepasst sein sollen. Dementsprechend haben wir die Tonarten neu ausgewählt.
Die Kompositionen decken ein weites stilistisches Spektrum ab, von Jazz bis Calypso, vom Blues bis zum französischen Musette-Walzer. Neben dem Kennenlernen unterschiedlicher Musikstile haben die Stücke vor allem ein Ziel: Sie sollen Freude am Musikmachen vermitteln.
Die CD enthält sowohl vollständige Demo-Versionen der Stücke als auch Play-alongs mit der Klavierbegleitung. Da die Flötenstimmen in den Demo-Versionen auf getrennten Kanälen liegen, kann man eine der Flöten mit dem Balanceregler der Stereoanlage stummschalten und diese Stimme dann selber zur Aufnahme spielen.
Allen angehenden Flötistinnen und Flötisten wünsche ich viel Spaß mit dem vorliegenden Heft. Wie es einer der Kompositionstitel sagt: „Keep On Movin´“!
