Vincent Cichowicz (1927-2006) was a member of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra from 1952-1974 and a faculty member at Northwestern University from 1959-1998. He is widely regarded as one of the most influential brass pedagogues of the 20th century. These studies represent the core principles of Cichowicz's teaching. All music included in this book has been recorded by Tim Higgins (Principal Trombone, San Francisco Symphony) and Toby Oft (Principal Trombone, Boston Symphony Orchestra).
