Playing together in a recorder quartet for the first time is a wonderful experience. Finding suitable pieces is, however, not easy. Beginners should have the chance to play in an ensemble while the advanced players on the larger instruments (alto, tenor and bass recorder) also need to be challenged. This was the inspiration for Theo Warttmann to create a series of excellent arrangements of well-known traditional songs for recorder quartet.
